Powerlifter Gaurii Manochaa Finds Strength Beyond the Gym Through 75-Day Hard Challenge

Powerlifter Gaurii Manochaa is proving that strength is not measured only by the weight on the barbell. Through her ongoing 75-Day Hard Challenge, the athlete has embraced discipline, consistency, and self-improvement, resulting in a transformation that extends far beyond physical fitness.

The challenge began with a simple goal. “The thing that inspired me to take on the 75 Hard Challenge was that I wanted to make myself fit. I wasn’t able to find any goal that could help me reduce my weight. That’s why I started this 75 Hard. I have been consistent, disciplined, and I’ve also lost around 6 to 7 kg of body weight.”

For Manochaa, the decision came at an important point in her powerlifting journey. She admitted that concerns about her health and confidence pushed her to make a change. “I wasn’t happy in my skin. When I used to see myself in the mirror, I used to think, ‘How bad am I looking?’ I also had health problems. I thought if my body weight reduced, my strength would drop a little, but I would be able to compete in a lower weight category.”

She acknowledged that the transition required careful balance. “My powerlifting strength did drop a little, yes it did, but I managed both my strength and my weight loss together.”

Like many people beginning a demanding fitness challenge, Manochaa’s biggest concern was whether she could remain consistent. “Before Day 1, I kept wondering whether I would be able to stay consistent or not. I’m camera conscious, and I wondered, ‘How will I show my lifestyle? Will people like it or not?’ These were all the thoughts I had.”

As the days progressed, she discovered that documenting her journey created a new sense of accountability. “I find this challenge really good, and it has made me feel responsible. People have trusted me so much that they are waiting for my daily videos. I even receive messages every day asking, ‘When is your video getting uploaded?’ If my audience is trusting me, then I have to stay consistent and disciplined.”

While her daily schedule revolves around the gym, office, and home, keeping her content fresh has become one of the toughest parts of the challenge. “My routine is the same. So what different thing can I do so that people are still interested in my videos? That’s what feels a little challenging to me.”

There were moments when she questioned whether to continue, especially when progress appeared slow. “Yes, there have been days when I felt like giving up because my body weight was stuck, the results weren’t coming, and in the beginning my videos were also getting fewer views. But then I remembered the commitment I had made. I didn’t even listen to myself, and that’s why I continued.”

Her determination, she says, comes from honoring commitments. “The never give up attitude keeps me going. Once I’ve decided on one thing, if I’ve made a commitment, then I cannot back off. Otherwise, people won’t trust me. Tomorrow, if I take on another challenge or do something else in life, then people won’t trust me. I have to gain the trust of the people.”

The challenge has also reshaped her mindset. “I have become more positive in my life, calmer in nature, and more consistent.”

Perhaps the biggest lesson she has taken away is that lasting success is built on discipline rather than temporary motivation. “I have learned that we should not always depend on motivation. We should be consistent and keep working hard. We should not think about the results. We should focus on the progress rather than the results.”
