A Pune realtor, Ketan Agarwal, was allegedly murdered during a trek at Lohagad Fort. What initially appeared to be an accidental fall is now being investigated as a planned murder. Police claim Ketan’s fiancée and her alleged boyfriend conspired to push him into a gorge to make it look like an accident. Both have been arrested, and the investigation is ongoing. The case has shaken the country, and actor Parichay Sharma, currently seen in the show Vasudha, does not mince words about where he stands.
He said, “I was shocked when I heard it. Could not believe how a person can do something this dark.”
The case has reignited conversations around consent and family pressure in relationships, and whether people still find it difficult to walk away from a marriage they don’t want. Parichay sees it differently. He said, “Anyone can say no, it’s a right. Even if you feel family pressure, just say no or shift to another city.”
On whether open communication within families could help prevent situations like this from turning into tragedies, he was clear. He said, “Yes, there should be open conversation in the family. Parents should discuss and try to make kids understand, but the last choice should be of an individual as it’s their life.”
The incident has also raised questions about emotional well-being and the cost of staying in unhealthy relationships. He said, “I don’t know why people make it so complicated. If you are happy in a relationship, be in it. If not, leave it, just say bye. Life should be more important and happiness should be a priority. There is no braveness in being in a toxic relationship and carrying it.”
The accused’s father has publicly stated that if his daughter is found guilty, she deserves the harshest punishment. Parichay agrees. He said, “She should get the hardest punishment. He is right. No one has the right to take another life. If she was not okay with any family decision, she could have taken a stand as a person, but she chose the wrong way, committed the biggest sin. So she should get punished and should be made an example so that people can learn from it.”
