“I did 22 full ghoomars across multiple takes”, says Nausheen Ali Sardar on her performance in Vasudha

Zee TV’s Vasudha continues to strike a powerful emotional chord with audiences across the country through its gripping narrative and layered characters. The latest episodes take a poignant turn as Vasudha (Priya Thakur) faces an emotional setback with the Chauhan family now seeing Megha (Mandeep Kaur) as the ideal match for Devansh (Abhishek Sharma). In the upcoming sequence, the family gathers to celebrate Devansh and Megha’s engagement, and the atmosphere is electric with tradition, music, and festivity.

But amidst the grandeur of the engagement festivities in the show, one moment stands out as an absolute showstopper—a spellbinding Ghoomar performance by Chandrika, played by the ever-elegant Nausheen Ali Sardar. Rooted in Rajasthani heritage, Ghoomar is a traditional folk dance performed by women to mark new beginnings, and Nausheen brings it to life with grace and intensity, combining powerful twirls, expressive hand movements, and a magnetic presence that beautifully honours the spirit of the tradition. To prepare for the sequence, she underwent four days of rigorous rehearsals, training under a professional choreographer to perfect the intricate footwork, hand gestures, and nuanced expressions that define Ghoomar.

Speaking about her experience, Nausheen Ali Sardar shared, “I was absolutely thrilled to perform Ghoomar—it’s such a graceful, culturally rich dance form, and bringing it to life felt incredibly special. I spent four days rehearsing, immersing myself in the intricacies of the hand movements, footwork, rhythm, and the subtle expressions that define Ghoomar. We worked closely with a choreographer to ensure every step stayed true to its roots. I practised in full costume so I could feel the weight of the outfit, the flare of the ghagra, and the rhythm of the spins. I wanted to embody Chandrika’s grace while staying rooted in the authenticity of the dance.”

She added, “On the day of the shoot, I did 22 full ghoomars across multiple takes to capture the sequence from different angles. It was a demanding sequence, but the adrenaline and emotion of the moment kept me going. I wanted to reflect that depth, not just in the dance but in the energy I carried. Everyone on set was incredibly supportive, and that helped me give it my all.”

As Devansh and Megha’s engagement celebrations take centre stage, the question looms—will Megha win over the Chauhans, or will Vasudha expose the truth and alter the course of their lives?

Stay tuned to Vasudha to find out what happens next, every day at 10:15 PM, only on Zee TV!
