Finding the “REAL” People Is Hard in Today’s Time: Pallavi Chatterjee

In a recent survey, India has ranked as the second loneliest country in the world. So, we asked actress Pallavi Chatterjee when was the last time someone asked her, “How are you?” and waited for the real answer. On this, the pretty actress says, “Only my close friends ask me, ‘How am I?’ Real people, real relationships, real well-wishers, and real friends and friendship are missing from our lives. We are scared to unmask, show our vulnerability to anyone, or speak our mind out. We keep protecting ourselves all the time from getting harmed, hurt, or being misrepresented. So, in the process, you start holding yourself back and not reveal your own self.”

She adds, “Of course, meaningful conversations and relationships are always great, but that doesn’t stop you from being lonely. Finding the ‘REAL’ people or friends is hard in today’s time. Someone may have hundreds of contacts and still feel completely alone. I have been extremely blessed and lucky to have a few unconditional friends who are always there for me.”

Pallavi also shares that when it comes to showing her emotions to someone, she would rather call up the person and convey them. She says, “I am still a little old-school and prefer to call someone directly (of course, not everyone) and speak. I don’t feel bad if they are busy and can’t speak to me then and there, and the same goes for me. I am, and have always tried to be, a good friend to my closest friends. Friendship comes with a lot of responsibilities, commitments, honesty, and being non-judgmental. Then, you should call yourself a friend.”

The actor is currently gearing up for Nikhil Advani’s “The Revolutionaries,” alongside the Hindi feature “Shawlwala,” and recently worked in a series directed by Sarthak Dasgupta. She rode a scooter after almost 18 years. She has a slate of other films and short films currently under production.
